North Country Recycles is an initiative of the Development Authority of the North Country. The North Country Recycles website is a resource tool to educate residents and businesses in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties on ways to reduce, reuse and recycle waste.

Reducing waste has many positive social, health, economic, and climate impacts.  It also impacts the amount of waste that goes to the regional landfill.  What does this mean?  It means that if we reduce the amount of waste going into the waste stream, then the life of the landfill will be much longer!    

The Development Authority of the North Country is a New York State public benefit corporation created to assist with the development of infrastructure, programs, and services to improve the health and well-being of the residents in Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties.  The Development Authority owns the regional landfill in Rodman, NY.  It also partners with Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties to create initiatives to increase recycling.
