Where Do I Discard...?
Find locations near you to recycle items.
Composting allows you to take common organic materials found around the home like fallen leaves, grass clippings, weeds, and most food scraps (with the exception of meats, fish, bones and fatty foods) and, by allowing them to naturally decompose, reuse the by-product as an organic fertilizer or dirt. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has valuable information on composting at home. There is also information on "Everything You Have Always Wanted to Know About Home Composting But Were Afraid to Ask!"
